Couples & family counselling
Online couples counselling gives you both a calm, neutral space to understand what is happening between you and to work on it together, from wherever you are. Every relationship goes through hard patches, and seeking support is a sign of investment, not failure. At AusFive, you and your partner can see a registered psychologist by secure video, with no referral needed to begin.

Couples come to us to work on communication and recurring conflict, connection and intimacy that has faded, trust and repair after a difficult period, navigating a big change together such as parenthood or relocation, and decisions about the future. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit, and many couples come simply to understand each other better and to get back on the same team.
Your psychologist helps you both slow down the difficult conversations, understand each other’s perspective, and build practical ways of relating that work for the two of you. The work is balanced and even-handed, so both partners feel heard, and it is paced to suit you. Sessions are held over secure video, which many couples find easier to arrange around work and family than travelling to an appointment together.
Family sessions bring family members together, such as a parent and a teenager, to work on communication, conflict and change at home. Your psychologist will talk through who should attend and how sessions will run before you begin. Family sessions that include a child under 13 are with Darren Rose, who sees children from age 7.
Your first session is about understanding the relationship, what each of you would like to be different, and what you want to work towards together. From there you and your psychologist shape the work, usually in sessions by secure video with both partners present.
Couples and family sessions are 60 minutes and $280, on a private basis. Medicare rebates apply to individual sessions only, so a rebate is not available for couples or family sessions, and no referral is needed.
